This book published in 1581 gives us a great view into the remnants of medieval Gaelic culture within Tudor Ireland. It's a rather mystical and ethnocentric view of Ireland, intended to shock English readers with their supposed barbarism, but the beautiful woodcuts do give us a clear impression of how life was in this age and even further back
